Did anybody not sail Ricketts today? It was great to watch indeed
. I think we outnumbered the kiters by 20:1 or so
.
Dumb question - what wind direction was it? Easterly?
I went all the way down to Sandy Point, and almost didn't get to sail because it was so windy. Totally nightmare maxxed on a 4.2.
Soooo, if Ricketts works on an Easterly, I might try an after-work session later this week...
Cheers!
It certainly was a strange day! Driving back to the Mornington Peninsula from MLB airport on Sunday arvo and had to dodge falling trees etc. which were not used to the strong South Easter . . . . . Got all excited and charged down to Point Leo expecting almost perfect cross shore conditions only to find balmy, glassy conditions! ![]()
I had a good windsurf at Altona but unfortunately by the time the wind came in - about 10am, the tide was too low to use the speed strip there, so I sailed around in the waves on the sand bar. Sadly I had to leave by noon as I had to be home for my partner's birthday - already partially in the bad books for even going out!
. Sounds like Nth Ricketts went off! Forty windsurfers is heaps in one spot - windsurfing must be the new golf!![]()
