On Ejmack's recommendation went to Point Ormond for the first time on Sunday and had a ball. Good flat water,NNW, 20 kts of wind, good rigging area and close to waters edge. Close proximity to a coffee shop helps in Winter also. Where else did people get to?
Glad you enjoyed it!
On Sunday I learnt - It's always good to take all of your sails, even if your sure you wont be needing them. ![]()
Noticed a few guys out at Green Point on the way home.
Was going to sail Western Port bay,but ended up at Sandy point to pick up a sail and boom. Lumpy/bumpy WNW with a charging in coming tide.Just got the car out in time.Good practice though ![]()
Ricketts on Saturday was a bit hit and miss, got their early waited for the westerly Rigged 5.7 sailed for 1/2 hour wind drops out
. Take of wetsuit get warm wind picks up put wetsuit back on, get the small board out. Another 1/2 hour of good wind then its gone again ![]()
. Packed up in disgust. Was their for about 5 hours not good value, hey but thats our sport
. Family commitments Sunday but had a good morning today at Bonbeach ![]()
Gave it a miss on Saturday as my skill level and sail range doesn't account for high wind with ease. Pretty consistent just under 30 knot westerly all day on Corio Bay.
Went out on Sunday to Point Henry and had the whole southern carpark to myself for a couple of hours. Some kiters joined in there after lunch but the wind dropped. I had the best of the 20 knots that hit there with gusts to 25 but the afternoon part of the session was up and down.
Sounds like I missed the best part of the day, when I had packed up for the second time I noticed the wind had kicked in again, by that stage I was over it and saying to myself it wont last.
. Looking to get out this morning, big northerly happening might as well make the most of it while work is quiet.
