I feel for you Windaddict, but my sympathy only goes so far as I have Thursday completely free and a little of Friday.

For those who are free, I'll will probably hit Rye after midday on Thursday. Hopefully it won't be downgraded again.

Have some sympathy for the poor people on holidays. I have had to endure days of sleeping in, hanging out in cafes and cooking for the whole family.
Looking forward to a little reward time now.
Might see you at rye on Thursday arvo Leman.

I work a 4 on and 4 off roster and so far all through this month any ANY hint of wind has been on my work days. Back to work tomorrow so expect good winds for at least 4 days... expect it to be still and glassy by Mon. Its even got to the point that my wife ( a non-sailer) has even noticed the lack off wind on my days off - could also be that i'm more grumpy that normal....

Good in northerlies..the wind funnels down through the hills, can be patchy with short runs and cold water.
Went there last Friday and it was good, but have had times when it is really flaky.

Enter via the main gates. Drive straight down the hill, past the toilets and park up in the bays nr the pier. Great grassy rigging area. Launch nr the pier. Wrap up warm - its bloody cold in there. Have fun. The parking signs indicate that its a loading area (I think) - I've only ever used the main car park once (in the summer). Nobody seems to bother you - particularly in winter.

I guess the question is then,
would you prefer going bayside if you had extra time?

Hey, Kevin Rudd can join you on the water now that he's got plenty of time on his hands - he's also into short runs, often finds himself in cold water and flakey as hell. New Pommy Prime Minister too - and a ranga! She's actually Welsh - just like my missus. Biiig trouble..!

On a strong northerly its a great spot, and I would go there over the bay. But it depends what you are after. Rye is another spot thats great on a northerly, but its a little more rough. Lysterfield is great for learners becuase of the flatness of the water.

Yep!

Tried it a number of times. Had one great session there on a northerly and the rest complete failures (also northerlies). Great if you like washing the gear with fresh water though but at that temp I'd rather not get wet.

Rye was crap until about 2pm, wind just wouldn't get through. Got better and better right up until 5:30pm. Has a bit of a sail with Waggle. Based on that I think tomorrow morning will be great. Just don't delay because I doubt it will last. Unfortunately I have to work.
