Hi guys,I live in seaford and after 15 or more years I'm looking at getting back into the sport. My neighbour was given an old Wayler one design board and rig but is missing the mast step that goes into the board. I want to muck around on the Wayler for a while before paying out for a new set up. Would anyone know where I might be able to locate one ?

Apparently it was a proprietry item that only fit Waylers. Try posting something on that site to see if anyone can help.
If you really want to use it before investing in something new, I may be able to help out with glassing in a new mast track so that it'll accept a modern deckplate. Let us know how you go.
Thanks for the suggestions. This is the first time I've done this forum stuff and I'm flying blind so I hope this gets through. Doing my homework on all of the new boards around now, things have sure changed. My last boards were Bombora's, a Tri Fin and an Antartica. Hoping to get some advise from you guys.
The gear has changed so much in those years, that it is nearly a different sport. One main point I can suggest -> take your time deciding on what to purchase... definitely consider second-hand gear. And if you're not about a piece of gear, post a question here.
Thanks, I've been asking plenty of questions at SHQ. I'm 6'4" and 100kg and would like a board I can uphaul if the wind drops. Suggestions have been JP Fun Ride or X-cite ride around 145ltr or Tabou rocket around the same size. Looking on internet for complete second hand package but not much around locally as yet.
That board size, sounds about right - depending on your skill level.
Given that you mentioned the Wayler, as a guess, it sounds like you might not have ridden planing board before. Is that the case?
I started on a Dufour (think that's how you spell it) about 26 years ago then progressed to the shorter boards 115ltr Trifin and smaller Antartica. Sailed those for a few years then got rid of them. Only reason I mentioned the Wayler is because my neighbour was given an old Bic board & rig then bought the Wayler for $80 so I've been showing him a few things to get him started and in the process have reignited the passion I used to have for the sport. I'm going to muck around on his boards for a while then buy a more recent one for myself.
Hi, cant really help with the Wayler but a 145Ltr board sounds about right.
The newer boards are lighter and faster. You might be able to pick something up second hand so keep your eye out.
