Hi guys.
I am new to windsurfing and I am loving it.
I went for a few lessons at the zu. And then hiring at Sandringham. And now I finally have my own gear.
I live in Pont Cook. I've read about places here, Werribee and Altona, but I haven't seen many people. Yesterday Altona wouldn't work because it was a southerly so I drove to St kilda. I forgot how bad the traffic is in the east after work. After a long drive I didn't see any sailor so I went back home very sad.
Just wondering if is any more windsurfers in the area with some good beginner spots.
I will go one of these weekends to Inverloch, I was thinking to go camping one night to make the most of the weekend. Any thoughts?.
Thank you guys.
There is a great crew of guys that sail around Geelong. Swan Bay, Lake Connewarre and Point Henry. Definitely come to Inverloch to one of the club's events and join in the fun. Welcome to your new addiction![]()
Going east over the bridge
St Kilda (west of the Zu) back toward Middle Park.
Elwood - from Point Ormond, the Yacht Club or Dawson Ave
Brighton - Dendy St
Ricketts Point, Mentone and Parkdale.
Aspendale (I'm less clear), but folk at Bon Beach.
Mount Martha, Safety Beach and of course Rye.
Further east, Inverloch and Sandy Point.
Sadly you did. Great event with 20 plus advanced beginners and intermediates getting pearls of wisdom from Kato on boards setup and sail rigging. The Club's next few events are GPS racing(which looks awesome for Sunday), Women on Windsurfers and the Longboard Challenge(family fun day)
Perhaps join the Facebook Groups - Inverloch Windsurfing Club and Connewarre Cremasters(Geelong) - mention your skill level and ask when and where people are going out.
