Hi Guys, just moved over from Perth a few weeks ago and have been trying to work out some nice spots to sail not too far from where I'm staying in St Kilda.
Love my foil race gear and thats all I brought over with me so the biggest things I'm struggling to find are spots that have easy parking and the shortest walk from car to neck deep water (problems short people have with 110cm foil masts ).
Obviously other good things would be minimal shore break, no underwater obstacles and might as well add some rigging grass to the wishlist.

Anyway just wondering if anyone has some recommendations for spots in different conditions and maybe where some other foilers sail

Hello, Scarrgo,

I'm reluctant to offer location advice as I'm not a foiler, so as a suggestion, why not drop into Zu Boardsports in St. Kilda (www.thezu.com.au) and discuss options with them? There could be some foiling action right near there, at Middle Park.

Hope this helps.

Hello Scarrgo.
Sorry to hijack your thread, I'm also over from WA visiting family out Werribee way and found South Werribee Beach, it looks like a nice place to sail, not sure if anyone does sail out that way but I'm sure someone from Vic can fill us in.

Dawson Ave Brighton/Elwood is very good blend of parking, rig areas, tap on site, short walks, sandy beach, other foilers for company ?? - plus top of the Bay is a wind magnet - just beware swimmers and WTF jetski behaviour, and shorebreak builds quickly on windy days

Hi Scarrgo, I foil at Sandridge beach Port Melbourne. It's epic on a northerly there for foiling with flat water and easy launch (beware of the offshore situation -need to be experienced getting upwind, carry phone, epirb etc). On southerlies you get shorebreak but the west end is more protected from a rock wall at the container dock. Hope to see you out there soon, there's not many of us.

Thanks guys, will definitely have a go at the spots recommended, they do look to better suit what I've been looking for than the places I already went foiling at and look forward to meeting some new friendly faces cheers
Look out for me on the water AUS1064
