over the summer break I have been hassled on the water by a couple of tools on jet skis . I sail mainly on the southern peninsula where there is a few around this time of year. Is this s common thing? When I used to sail in the dark ages there wasnt that many around and they used to be quite friendly . If I'd dropped the sail in the last incident I would have decapatated the idiot.
I wouldnt worry about them to be honest. They probally ride close to windsurfers because they think their hot **** riding a sit down jetski at full power and thinking their better then you. What they dont know is that it takes very little skill to ride a sit down jet ski...hence why 9 out of 10 jetski's are the sit down variety. So next time these tools come close enough to be able to hear you, just yell out to them 'get a stand up ski'. They'll probally come back and try and kill you but thats because their pride would have been dented.
Yep, it's always the sit down type, usually containing two young men with large gold chains. The rear one giving the front one a passionate embrace .(not that there's anything wrong with that )
Good. Directing you comments to the tools that ride them, not the tools they use.
Jet skis are very useful tools for getting to remote surf breaks etc. ![]()

Yes, a means to and end. Not and end in themselves.
Never been hassled while sailing, but they are a pain in the transom when I'm out in my powerboat. You keep a straight course and the tools are weaving all over the place in front of you. You can never assume they've seen you. I try to keep a proper lookout but otherwise ignore them. The real tools seem to thrive on a bit of agro.
