Least windy time of year sorry, good time to fish or surf and sneak the odd sail when the wind turns up. Bring on September though! ![]()
BD,
What SHOULD have happened was that the winds dropped away in March, stayed down in April and May, then started to come back around the 2nd or 3rd week of June.
Instead, it completely reversed.
Hang in there, the cold winter Northerlies are coming!
Welcome to VIC BD.
Definitely agree with WindmanV, Autumn was comparatively good compared to last year, so it seems doldrums are upon us late this year.
Hang up there though, it should come.... hopefully soon.
GP said ?It's never going to be windy again... All is woe?.
Can?t work out if I?s due to my purchase of a new 4.7 sail, mast and extension (in anticipation of the cold winter northerlies) or Huey is getting back at a certain group of windsurfers who have just returned from Hawaii where they reported that a ?Bad Day? was when they had to use 4.7?s.
Now, if Windjunky and the Seabreeze forecaster can get their act together, things would be good for next Saturday and BDI would get a taste of real Victorian winds.
Yep, alright. The winter northerlies have arrived AND I'm on holidays.![]()
Bit lonely out at GP today though. Anyone get out at Rye?
Well,
It's 33 knots at Fawkner Beacon as I write this, I haven't been sailing for at least 3 weeks and I've got new gear that's just begging to be used.
I know what to do: I'll stay at work and log onto the web every hour or so, to torture myself about what could have been. ![]()

Kidding me........
Yes,
Norton 360 was warning me off the site for weeks, then it came good. I'm at work now and we use Trend Micro Security Agent, which is letting me through.
What we need is someone with an IT background to sort out this mess. Volunteers?
Love the brown arrows. ![]()

Not when they are occuring during the week! ![]()
I can confirm today was fairly windy but also bloody cold!
No sympathy. Just envy
Zac, Lee and I sailed at keasts park. Had a 4.7 up but it was mega gusty, sometimes to much, other times bobbing... Hopefully tomorrow is warmer![]()
... at Rye. Had some great runs just off the beach north of the carpark. Was able to keep abreast of the traffic (60 zone), with some faster surges. Lucky the 20cm 2K MFC is more like 19cm these days.

Sure was cold. Finally gave up shivering and bought new wettie and boots after today's session. Now need a smaller sail so I can survive longer in the brown arrow days.
Same. Went out today for one and a half hours and froze the bought a wetsuit as soon as I got back to the computer. 4/3 Ebomb should do me fine.
Overpowered on 5.3 and 112 Kode with 30cm fin. Its the smallest gear I have though, so its either go out like this or not go out at all.
Today was about survival.

It was CARNAGE at Green Point today!!! I used a sail that was <4 (not saying what size, to avoid embarrassment), and in the gusts i was maxed!!!
is anyone out torquay/barwon way tomorrow? I'd appreciate company as I'm relative new
New to the sport or the area?
Looks like it will have to be an early start before it dies.
Few crew at 13th beach today having a blast.
Location depends on direction. (Has a ring to it, that does)
Did you get out BalsdeepI?
I was flat out at work... I need to be more committed
I might try "Bonbeach " today. I'll be the one on the gaastra

I'll see you out there. I'll be on a blue sail and a new reddish board coming up from the other side of the life saving club.
New to the sport or the area?
sort of both. went to late connewarre instead as a bit safer, not quite ready for 13th though looked pretty fun.
