Big thanks to RPS and KA Sails for tripping down to Inverloch on Sunday to show us their gear and talking to us about what them where doing.
James and Jamie from RPS need to be praying to the wind gods more because this is the second clinic RPS have run without wind.
With the KA team there, Andrew McDougall, Martin Love and 50 spot knotty( sorry Spotty) it was great to hear where KA had started from and what they are currently doing on sail development.
We had 12 club members turn up and another 12 sailors arrive through the day. Most looked at the mill pond conditions and sat around and caught up. A few of us desparados got out and cruised around with big equipment. I think at one stage I counted 14 sails on the water including a few surprises. Spotty crusing on a SUP with a small sail. Kato teaching his son on a Windsurfer one. We think this is a cover up job though as Kato is practising for when the Club has the "Who can sail the One Design Fastest" meet
B 3 cooked up a storm on the BBQ whilst everyone sat around and listen to Matt and Kato throw barbs at each other over their GPS pb's
Special mention has to go to Croweman. This sleep deprevation with being a new Dad has finally got to him. Left part of his equipment at home and was seen borrowing gear on three separate occassions to try and rig and still not getting out. Crowie the fin does not bolt onto the boom!!
I also think the highlight for Drift was when rigging his brand new NP V8 the team from KA circled and proceeded to evaluate "how good a sail it was" and how well the puice coloured boom suited it and the owner.
All in all a great time was had by all and looking forward to the Allison Shreeve weekend at the end of the month.

Thanks for the invite Salty and it was great to get there and meet the crew. What a lovely spot you have and I will certainly get down again when some wind is forecast .
I think it is great you have set up this club and organising activities, fantastic , keep it up.

I am sure Drift will survive AMAC's appraisal of his new gear although that Mauve and White boom is a bit much!!

Yeah, big thanks to RPS/Jamie etc. and the KA sails people. Wife and I enjoyed it even if the wind was quite light.

Hey Doug - not everyone rigs big in light winds!!! Better to have a smaller throw about rig in those conditions to practice the lighter wind stuff.

Sooo many boards and sooo little wind, still good to get wet

see you next week-end if any-ones keen

On my way to pick-up a 84lt f2 wave board and yes I will strugle for any of you guys that have seen me sail. I hope it comes with a paddle. $140.00 bargain for the odd days like we had on cup-day

Cheers Laurie

A big thanks to James for teaching me how to windsurf, im a begginer kiteboarder and their was not enough wind for me to get going, but the RPS crew were nice enough to let me and a mate use their gear and teach me what im missing out on.
Not much wind but i had fun and now have a newfound appreciation for windsurfing.
To Brendan from RPS ill be in touch for that kite lesson i asked you about, pay day is this Thursday!
Thanks again
-Alastair

Thanks to the RPS guys for the lend of the SUPs, Callan and I had a paddle race with a SUP v One design. Callan kicked my butt easily on the One design, such a great board but i had forgotten how heavy they are. Callan had a great sail on the SUP so were now on the hunt for some kids sails or some very small wave sails to stick on the one design. There are now two of these boards available for anyone to use, no sails or centerboards for them yet but we are looking.

Hmmm, May be able to help you out there on both counts. Plenty of old triangle sails laying around here plus I think I have a Windsurfer OD 'storm' centre board hanging in the shed......

Ahh to view your garage Sailquick. It must be a veritible museum. I heard you took Drift on a tour one day and they had to bring in the sniffer dogs two days later to find him

Been to that garage. Hanging up is an original Isonic. They have detuned it since that awesome catamaran section.

Anyway, not my day. Lost forum password, computer not mine anymore- used up 1 month allowance in 1 day after zomby bot thingo taking over.
Left seat harness at Inverloch. Probably shredded by the council mower men.

But tomorro will be SW
