With a lot of planning and patience, sacrificing virgins(male and female) to the windgods the planets aligned and we got some decent winds to run our clinic last Saturday.
10 brave souls ventured out to the Rotary BBQ on the foreshore at Inverloch to listen with great reverence to our Sen Sai master Kato aka Darth Vader aka Craig
.
Sheltering from the rain and wind we listened intently and asked copious questions of our master who guided us through stance, equipment, shape of fins, rigging of sails and conditions to get the most speed out of set ups. Also threw in pieces about water starting and gybing to assist.
We broke for lunch of BBQ snags cooked eloquently by Craig's daughter Katlin who also had many stories to add to the Masters voice.
Some fool(me) then suggested we should brave the 12 degree temperatures(8 after wind chill) and venture out. After I was declared insane to my surprise all attendees bar two, who will NOT be named(SUE and PHILLIP the pikers) ventured out onto the water to trial our masters tips.

1) Old Salty(me) for discovering a new technique of submarine sailing
2) David - best star jump dismount when gust hit
3) Elisabeth - for discovering the Inverloch jetty.
4) Ejmack - for an attempted forward loop whilst the nose of his board was underwater.
5) Drift - for suggesting at the end of the day when we were all stuffed that the speed strip was up and we should all venture down there.
Mind you the last hour of the day Kato, Ejmack and myself ventured out on to the speed strip and had some sweet runs. For most of the day we were doing runs in 300mm chop so when the speed strip popped up to sail in 30 mm ripple was pure heaven.
Big thanks go to Kato for giving us his time in preparing the lesson, the cook Katlin and the 10 brave souls who ventured out. Also to B 3 and Cara who opened up their warm, warm house and served us coffee afterwards.
A good day was had by all and there are discussions on running a beginners clinic, road trip to our western brothers at Point Henry, a video clinic, manufacturers demo day and more road trips to Goolwa and Tasmania

Glad everyone had fun. Well done to all who ventured out in difficult conditions. No wind inshore, lots past the first sand bar and out going tide/ incoming wind makes it a bit tricky. Hope to run another one in summer if people are interested
