I know , I know I cannot stop raving about the place but have to post on another great day at Inverloch.
Went down early for the RPS clinic(could not make it Saturday) only to find out they had cancelled it - Damn. Sat around talking with 13 other people who had come down for the clinic until the wind sprung up around 11. 12 kts gusting to 15. WSW Put up the 8.5 on the 144 ltr with the 50 cm fin and just powered all day doing regular runs of 18 - 21 kts on the gps. It was magic. The water was flat as a tack barely raising a ripple(100mm)
Thanks to Jman and his advice to move my foot straps out and back it enabled me to lock down the outside rail and stop the board lifting too much.
The other great thing was to see the progression of skills on a few of the others on the water and the discussion before, during and afterwards.
And yes a few of us are working on a floating bar on one of the sand banks to help re hydrate a weary windsurfer or two!!![]()
Soo where did people go and how did you go on the weekend.
I just want to say that Sunday at Inverloch was great too. I have been riding a 170 Go for the pass few sessions and decided to try hubbys 133 Go with my new Solo 6m. Have to admitt that I was a bit worried but after everyone saying that I would be ok I gave it a go. Had a ball... even did a light wind jibe and got on the plane for about 20 sec and then came across the floating bar that Old Salty was talking about (bummer). No regrets now selling the 170 looking forward to perfecting the 133 and giving hubby a race.
Hey Cobby - took to it like a frog in a pond. Was great to see you out on the water and take on a challenge and lick it![]()
Hey Cobby
I hear you are going to Victoria's first windsurfing GRANDMA soon. That 's something to be proud of!! And I thought I was old![]()
hey hey tone it down I am not that old.. Yep this Friday is the due date for our little gran girl. but I am hoping that she is a bit late so that I can get another sail in next weekend
Ejmack, you must have a very understanding wife then if she is not allow to take the futura but you are able to take the GO????????
inverloch sounded great.
I was time constrained so ended up sailing at williamstown beach, arrived around 2pm looked like I was going to be rigging a 5.5m but noticed that the wind was dying quickly.
Went out on a 6.6m & 111L carve but barely got planing. Chilled out for a while, went for a paddle on my mates canoe and caught some waves.
Texted a few friends, they showed up but no takers. Must of been good on saturday...
The wind then picked up a little and I had a great time on my 6.6m although Im sure it was a lot more bumpier than inverloch.
Looking forward to getting down there.
Hey Matthew
Jamie was running the clinic for RPS. By all accounts Saturday went well. A non sailing friend was down there Saturday trying out a canoe saying he watch this girl sail all day and fall over about 100 times(no exageration)
