Calling Jman, Bondy and KGB - what has happened to you guys. Turned whimps because the water has got a bit cooler
. Evan needs someone to challenge him at the top of the table.
Which forecast are you guys looking at?
I might be down on Sunday if it's promising - my new Dweller Freestyle board should be finished by then, and I want to give it a spin asap...
Hey Flicky be great to catch up. Excuse my ignorance but where did you get the board from - never heard of that brand.
Weather forecast that seems to be consistantly reliable for Inverloch is www.weather.com.au Forecast 20 kts for Sunday.
Cool...
Dweller is a local outfit - run by Stuart (pom, white Merc Vito, often at St. Kilda and occasionally SP). He's expanding production at the moment. I was up at his place putting the paint on my new board this weekend - sexy as hell.
Board construction is stronger than anything I've seen available in the shops, for the same weight - I've got two layers of carbon-kevlar and a layer of carbon across the nose of mine and under the footstraps.
Doesn't matter how hard I hit the nose, this bad boy isn't going to break!
Matt's got one as well - a 70ish litre freestylewave creation.
See you at Inverloch...
During a patch-job on my older Freestyle Wave, we cut off the deck to revel the core. Upon inspection of the epoxy-fibre layers, we found unwetted glass.
Seeing how Stuart builds his boards, I'd say has got his construction down right -> he makes 100% sure that there is a decent bond between every layer. I'm not sure if I can explain how he does it, as it may be his little secret, but he will quite happily explain it in person.
One little trick that he identified, to help save weight, dont paint the bugger...! (Or only use a very thin coating.) It turns out that painting it, can add up to more than 1/2 kg of extra weight.
