Sunday a.m. woke up to the phone going off like a frog in the pond. Roads are flooded! Is it still on! Quick google maps search and found a long way round for members to get there via Drioun and Korrumburra as Sth Gippy hwy was shut. Hit the road and met Drift in Garfield and had a great drive through the rolling hills of Korrumburra. Arrived around 9.30 to the news that some people had given up coming down as they spent two hours on the road and got no further than Berwick.
The twenty intrepid windsurfers that had made it all had their own stories of the adventure of the road trip to reach Inverloch.
Huey kicked in very early and blew SW from 12 - 20 kts on and off all day as the weather fronts came through. Kato was firing early with some 35 kts runs which in his mind was "nothing much" as we all slobbered.
Martin Love from KA and Adrian and Jamie from RPS where setting up a great range of sails for us to PLUG into our boards and PLAY with.
The club had speicified a range from 5.5 - 6.5mtr and we had Koyote's, Kult's, Koncept's from KA and Severne S1, NCX, Covert, Turbo and Naish Rally, Grand Prix set up for us to play with.
The comments from club members where fascinating as people compare their own sails with the new release 2011 gear. Some guys had never used cammed sails before so it was a real on water education. Some guys liked what others did not. Personally I loved the new Koncept(Red is definitely quicker
) and the non cammed Severne NCX.
The usual IWC BBQ at lunch time saw lots of fun and laughter going down and then it was back on the water. At that stage we finally tempted Martin, Adrian and Jamie into the water and it was great to see them ripping it up on our turf and enjoying themselves.
As is now the custom on the Inlet someone calls "THE LAST RUN OF THE DAY"
We are all stuffed and ready to come off the water. This is when the carnage happens. Mick's one handed body drag that happened when he was laughing so hard as he watched my double forward somersault dismount. This was the perfect background to Richie's tabletop jump to avoid Ashley's 360 pirouette.
As we came off the water Mick suggested to Martin that he had a new sail name for the KA brand that we could launch for him at the Inlet - KARNAGE

Great day, and a great idea.
Being able to compare and contrast sails and rigs and chat to others about what they thought was awesome...no sales gimmicks, just honest feedback about what works/ doesn't work for the individual sailor.
Also having the constant reference of having your own board underfoot meant that you weren't throwing too many variables into the mix.
We should do more of these.....
I arrived at Invy on Saturday to stay the nighta After setting up camop I was joined by Drift and Lozza for a non planing session.
Went to bed early Sat night and woke up at 5:30 to the wind blowing! Layed in bed till the sun popped up enough to get out there.
I was on the water at 7:30 enjoying a falling tide 15 - 20 knots and the only sailor out there! BLISS!
Kato turns up and quickly rigs and BANG. No wind.
RPS turn up and whala, wind again!
He shoots off for some quick runs while Adrain and Jamie set up the rigs.
I had an off, hitting a sandbar and slam dunking my elbow into my board. Ouch!
I got off the water to pack up the caravan and headed home at 2. Because of the diversions, took me an added 2 hours to the trip.
The RPS team and KA were fantastic bringing all these rigs for us to use. I can't thank them enough for the opportunity.

Was a great day just wish the wind had been a little more consistent. I reckon there were one or two 25-30 knot squals in there early in the day. At one stage I had just let off a bit of down and outhaul on my 5.2m and back on the water when one came through. Hairy ride but a lot of fun!
Well worth the effort to get there though.
A very enjoyable day and I hope everybody enjoyed using the gear RPs and myself brought down. It was the first time for me sailing on the Inlet and it was fun.
Didn't enjoy the drive home though, took a wrong turn at Poowong and ended up God knows where (guy on the veranda playing a banjo!!!!) before heading back to Drouin. A nice extra 70 km's to my trip, bugger.

Great day sailing and catching up with some guys I havnt sailed with for a while, next time I might try a couple of sails out, can't afford any new gear at the moment . Also great to get those extra little tips from the more experienced sailors ( kato/Mick /Evan )
Thanks again for the invite Salty,.. I was a great day,.. Being still a novice, trying a couple of different sails was a great experience,.. Now just got to learn to miss that nose on the JP,..

A Great Day. The trip down from Brisbane was well worth it. I managed a few 25knot runs and was dead set roo ted at the end (not very fit )
