Typical northerly. Up and down but on the plane for70 percent of the time. Two guys getting out at 4.30 when I arrived. 2 more arrived after me. A fun session seeing I was not expecting anything this arvo. Got too hot so time to leave the winter wettie at home. Scenery on the beach is picking up too. Life is good.
G mate, you must love that spot
You should build a little house there
your allways there waiting for the wind when I turn up at the beach. Hey you have to get to sandy point some time. I cant believe you have never windsurfed there
The next good eastly drive down there mate the place is so nice.
I'm not as lucky as some. One guy was out there at 8am this morning having a great time while I was driving to work.
Just park across the other side of Beach Road in the carpark of the gym. Some other guys do and then walk there gear over to the grassy patch next to the memorial.
Yes it would, but mate you dont know who is reading this?? You know any one can read what we say on seabreeze, even if they dont log in and are not a member.. The site is not real safe.. Any way for now i will just will have to drive me car across the road and park there..
Flipper said: "The thing is too, to buy a permit its like over hudred dollars and only last for about 3 months stuff that".
Rubbish. The passes are valid from 1 Oct of one year to 30 Septemeber of the next year. The Council will also discount the cost if the pass is bought late in the year, say June.
"They are real sneaky at ricketts point, even worse than green point."
Same Council, but it seems the parking officers have some latitude in how many visits they can make to a site. Was at Green Point during 11th and they made 3 visits in the 3 hours I was there. This was unusual, as I was expecting only 2 visits given the conditions that attracts tourists.
"The parking officers there watch you while you rig up, and then make out there leaving, but they dont they come straight back, as soon as every one is out on the water".
Have been sailing since the early nineties and have never seen parking officers (Kingston or Bayside) stay and watch the rigging process. After a visit, they may leave then come back an hour later, as per above.
Personally, I've found parking officers to be very reasonable and helpful when I've had a query with a parking question, so long as you treat them with respect. They have a job to do and it can be unpleasant.
I certainly don't like parking fees, thinking that we constant users don't get enough value for them in terms of better facilities, but there is little that I can do to alieviate them. Kingston and Bayside councils are no different to other councils in terms of parking limits and fees. I try to show my displeasure at election time (would it help if we had a sticker for the back of our cars "I'm a windsurfer and I vote").
In summary, Flipper, you knows the rules, you takes your chances.
If you have a permit make sure you update when you get the new season's one. (Due on now) I was fined displaying a permit 2 months out of date as I forgot to put the new one on.
