Ok I wanted to find out how many freestylers there are in Victoria, in particular ones that would be keen to enter a WV freestyle comp (if there was one).

This is all pie in the sky right now but it would be good to get ideas flowing as todays ideas may be tomorrows reality!

My Ideas:
Location: Pookipa
I think that there should be jet ski tow ins (in light winds), flow-style heats, and perhaps juniors section.

If strong winds we can crack out the Shaddowbox (if someone has em) and do a jump height comp, ramps can be supplied by jet ski if its flat.

I am happy to supply the tow in jetski and more than happy to hit a ramp if someone made one!
Unfortunately my freestyle (more like stylefree) only consists of the occasional spock.....

Thanks Joel.

I think that this would be more about putting on a good show than anything else.

Doesn't seem to be much interest though. Perhaps all the freestylers are too cool for seabreeze?

haha - not too cool - it's just depressing to read windsurf forums when there's no wind around!

I'm definitely keen for a freestyle comp. I can think of a handful of others who I'm pretty sure would be keen to get involved too, Ian B, Lisa, Evan, Rich, Andy A, Andy B, Phil V, Phil C to name a few.

Yup, I'm in (IanB)...

Definitely reckon an expression session culminating in a best-trick / most-improved / best wipeout / trying hardest prize would be the way forwards rather than heats.

Be far more interesting for spectators that way. Hold some clinics on the same day to show people the ropes who are interested but don't know how to get into it.

Good idea. I'm in.

For the moment though I'm off down GP to see if thee green arrows actually mean anything... :D
