Do they really come on there?
I have been dreaming about flying the 80 - 124k stretch of dunes in my Hangglider for a while. But am having trouble getting confirmation about the conditions there.
Some say there are regular sea breezes there, but the observation history looks poor.
I also read a post on here about the sea breeze been stronger inland on the lakes, ie 15 knots while only 7 knots on the coast at seaspray ...
Seaspray is where we plan to base ourselves from. a heap of guys from sydney as well as a pile from melbourne plan to give it a go in about 4 weeks time. mid week to avoid the weekend tourists.
Ideally we want 15 knots to fly the hanggliders. But im kinda pessimistic from looking at the obs.
Howdy, Seabreeze down there can be patchy...there's heap of water behind the dunes which keeps the land temperature down a bit.
It does get decent frontal systems this time of year.
Ive been going there all my life (bloody hell, I just realised that's 38 years!).
I can remember the seabreeze down there was always S-SW..these days its more like a S-SE-E. An old fisho's tale was the best chance for seabreeze doen there is around 2 days from the moment the wind hits the East...don't know if its true or not.
