Hey Wind Junky, whats going on with the Baywinds site, getting this sometimes over the last few days ?
Awww... bugger. Trying a few new things, and thought i had solved that problem. Obviously not.
Many thanks for the eagle eyes...
Without wanting to sound negative, do you have a provision in your will for the baywinds website?
It's just that you cycle to work and it's really really good.
Yeah top site!
This new guy at work (kiter) today was banging on how cool this app was for wind for the bay, I showed him your webpage and he nearly did his load there and then ![]()
I reckon every year RPS, SHQ & the Zu should alternate and give you free stuff like boards and sails. Seriously, how many people rely on your site to get their fix?
Saw an app a couple of yard ago that was basically pulling graphs from the Bay Winds page, unacknowledged and charged for the privilege. Put Andrew onto the app, which seemed to disappear after he pointed out some basic concepts like copyright. And not stealing other people's work.
Hopefully the app you saw wasn't one like it.
I bought that app because I thought it was Andrew's. Straight away I found it continually crashing (for more than a day) and didn't have 1% if the richness of baywx.com. I realised immediately it wasn't his. Whoever developed the app was pretty cheeky..
I reckon WV, the kiting mob and Yachting Victoria should all pitch in and sort out an Order of Australia Medallion for Dr Watkins (is he a PhD?). He has single handedly ensured thousands of bay users have hit the water at the right place at the right time. Think of all the millions of brownie points we have saved by only heading to the beach when Baywx has confirmed the breeze is kicking in. You could argue he's probably even saved marriages...
You guys are going to give me a big head... which will reduce my aero and slow me down (I'm at Sandy this weekend with the need for speed). Dont do it...
[Hell, many thanks for the kind words guys - it is much appreciated]
