Back Beach San Remo , good in W - SE , small waves to 1m , breaks on sandbars reasonably flat in between . Gets very big on center break . Strong tide outside sandbar , good with outgoing tide as waves jack up - flatter on incoming tide

French Island, just need the right tide with a good w to nw and a boat. 9km of flat water . Area 45 near Invy is not to bad either on the banks. The Pit is better in a westerly at high tide as you can chase the swell times over the sand bars. Tend to max out at 33

I had reasonably low expectations of this thread when I posted it but I am pleasantly surprised.

Does that sand-spit at San Remo dry out at low tide, or is it like Rye front beach on a northerly - almost flat but a bit messed up....?

Better at 1/2 tide , dries out but not completely - long walk to the water , strong tide outside bar - you don't want to get stuck with run out tide & no wind !
