Thinking of camping at Anglesea Beach Caravan Park next week with my kids. Are you allowed to sail the main beach there? With light to moderate SE and NE winds would Inverloch be worth going to?

I never sailed in Anglesea, from memory there's a little inlet towards the river and ocean beach. Inverloch anything with E would work at Area45 (Mahers Landing) and I have seen guys having fun at the entrance channel.

hey mate i windsurf at anglesea but only to the rite of the caravan park near the old boat ramp its good at high tide and if the tides high enough you can head out to the reef but be careful its a dangerous spot on the wrong day! point road night can be ok as well and around the corner at a place called guvos can sometimes be good!!

When you say to the right of the caravan park, is that looking out to sea? What are the best wind directions?

Hi, I windsurf at anglesea but mainly take off from pt roadnight. Easy to drop your gear by car at the ramp.
Most of the time you need to get past the rocky outcrop ( the point I guess) to get better and more consistent wind. There is normally quite a bit of a swell, not so much of a chop, and often the swell is great to ride back in.

I haven't surfed near the camping side, but I think you can surf behind the reef which reduces the chop, waves and makes it all bit easier.

Good luck and have fun. Unfortunately I will be in melbourne.
