A couple of us were thinking of going to Inverloch on Sunday. Winds are predicted to be north west then SW as below....
Forecast for Sunday (Westernport)
Winds: Northwesterly 15 to 25 knots tending south to southwesterly during the late morning. Seas: 0.5 to 1.5 metres. Low tide at about 10am, high at about 5pm. Hmmm perhaps not so promising.

We are beginner-intermediate and plan to sail only in the estuary.
What are the best winds and tides for windsurfing in the estuary at Inverloch?

Advice much appreciated!

Anything from the north no go ,but sw perfect and low tide is the best for flat water. The bank opp the pier will be flat for most of the day. Go and enjoy

Hey Ozbiker...
to add to Kato's prophetic words, anything with a South in it is pretty good. Traditionally low tides have been the best but recently, with the amount of sand in the Inlet a mid tide has created longer runs.
If you're just starting out, head to the Angling Club at the end of the Esplanade towards the caravan park. Theres a nice sand bar to sail along altho' it is getting shorter and shorter.
If you want to see who is sailing down there check out the Inverloch Windsurfing Club website- www.driftmedia.com.au/iwc - theres a calander where members put details of their upcoming adventures.
I might see you down there if the SW comes through as predicted.
cheers,
mick
