Well I am getting out there at 7.30am at St kilda. I will freeze my ass off, but on the same note I'll be grinning ear to ear and loving it! (with icycles hanging out of my nose)
I know a bunch of you are going to Sandy Point, but those of you staying around the bay on this gorgeous WSW, who's going where when?
EDIT: Relocated to Mentone.
Hazelwood (hood river) woud be going off sundy wish it was not so far to drive. 40 knots and warm water![]()
Probably only a short local sail for me. Hosting a party that afternoon and night so will be testing my masterchef skills. Should be a great day for sailing, hope everyone gets out.
mentone will be to wild fellas i find the chop there to dumpy and its a pain to try and sail out through.. think elwood would be better thats if there is no pollution like dingers or syringes washed up on the shore with the sea weed that the beach sometimes gets in a gale.. hope the beach stays clean or you could try mt martha..me and me bro wont be windsurfing safety beach in a south westly ever again that beach is so dirty it never gets cleaned and collects all the crap from along the bay.. we could not believe some of the stuff we saw washed up on the beach there last time we were going to go for a windsurf there..
what a you fellas doing tomorrow satdy?? ya should come down to rye or mt martha
think i will only sail mt martha now sundy
i better go load me sinker on me car fellas now
and get ready to catch this wind![]()
my red thumb stalker has followed me into the vic windsurf forums go stalk some one on face book looser
my missus has made plans for satdy. love to get out there but the reality is I got to split my weekends between my two loves... my family and my windsurfing.
Sunday mornings mine though!!!
Well today sucked. Set up and stood on the beach for 20 minutes then packed up and went home. I guess at least I didn't actually have to get wet.
It sounds like rye was a little better than mornington Leman. I think zak missed you today son
. I got on a plane a few times, but it was gusty as tho. what ya think of mt martha tomorrow dude? or I was thinking of elwood, but cant be bothered driveing into the city.. feel abit lazy
if the cracking 40 knoter blows tomorrow do you have a 3.0 I can borrow off you
Leman?? or I wonder if
Zak has a 3.0???
Pretty busy tomorrow, so may or may not get a sail in. Please don't call me son flipper. I prefer to save that for my dad.
Bit up and down. Two board changes. Two sail changes but got wet and had fun. Best bit a few mins with three dolphins going around and under board and watching them play in the whitecaps off ricketts. Glad it was the right fin especially when on and off plane
Nuts conditions here yesterday...between 25-35kts & gusts over 40kts! I had my smallest gear on which was way too big & had a few breaks on the beach waiting for it to calm down to 30 so I could get back out there.
A gust took out a panel in a mate's sail, and another mate rigged a 4.5(?) with a basketball-sized hole in the top panel & he was still way overpowered!
Good times.![]()
[edit] The strong winds we got could have had something to do with the tornado that came through not far from here yesterday...

Must have been awesome from 2-5! At Mentone we were lucky to get 15 knots.... using 7 - 7.5m sails, planning on occassion, still a fun day, but some nuts wind would have been nice ![]()
