Its getting closer,
Dont forget to tell people who are coming that booties or old sneakers for learners will be needed.
canned soft drinks and bottled water will be available.
Maybe a BBQ running each day.
i will have the dvd 'beginner to winner' so people who are teaching learners can refresh themselves with the technique.

I will ask dave if he can make this a 'sticky' until the event has come and gone.
We want newbies to the site to see this right at the top!!
cheers Damien

Damo, what's the best way to notify people on the location?
Doran's will be easy for people to find, the lagoon is harder to find.

Oh and I spoke to Morgan he reckons he's going to make a fortune on the snags

If it is at Cremorne Lagoon we should put a sign up at Dorans. I can throw something together if you like, but would only be A3 size on paper and laminated.

Another big day, must have been at least 30-40 cars around 1pm, cops came and told us to get the cars off the road, seemed to be heaps of new people on the water, plenty of 1st timers and some of the old guys coming out of the closet looking for new gear.
Conditions were a bit gusty but ideal for the day with wind out the back and flat water on the inside for beginers
Thanks Kaleb for digging me in the ribs while I was being interviewed by ABC, hopefully that wasn't live cos I really stuffed it up, gotta laugh she must have thought I was on drugs
Anyone got any photos

Fantastic three days, so much bigger and better than last year, there's a few of the newbies really hooked which is what it's all about.

A big thanks to Simon Hanson, with a very impressive range of boards and Damien who put in big time and of course all the rest of us servants who love doing as we're told from BOSS Morgan who I think over charged on every sausage and made a fortune for Tas Windsurfing Ass.

Simon said it was as big as the series in Melb so we should be pretty proud.

As much as it pains me to be nice to Hanson, if you can lower yourself to check out this website, thanks mate you are a cool dude with a cool setup.......................now bug.er off back to Melb...........without the trailer

Absolutely great, must be the biggest turnout for an event in decades!
Thanks for everyone who helped and participated.
Lets hope this helps boost the numbers of sailors, certainly some very keen interest was shown by all!!
There were 50 people who signed in and nearly the same amount again who didnt.
Just check out the photo of the parking, there were just as many in the top carpark!!

Well done guys it truly was a fantastic event. I managed to get down Monday and Tuesday and as it turned out there were conditions for everyone. I saw quite a few old and familiar faces on the Monday who had turned out to get back into it. There were lots of newbies giving it a go as well. It was great to see people of all ages and in particular lots of girls putting around in what turned out to be a lovely summer afternoon on the Tuesday.

Well don Damo, Simon and support crew.

It certainly was a fantastic three days. It was great to see so many new people wanting to give the sport a go; hopefully we see you out on the water in the future.

Well done to all the Tassie sailors for lending a hand or turning up to show your support for the event.

For those that gave up many hours to pass on their knowledge to beggining sailors, a very big special thankyou, you made the event the success that it was and put smiles on the faces of many people.

Thanks to Neil Pryde and JP Australia for supplying such a wonderfull assortment of high quality gear.

I think we all owe Damien Wallace from Jay Sails and Anthony Houston some special Christmas and New Year Cheer for their selfless efforts in organising this fantastic event and supporting windsurfing in Tasmania.

It would be great to acknowledge the endless hours damien puts into developing Windsurfing in Tassie by giving him a call next time your after some gear or needing quality advice on what suits your requirements. Damien has years of experience and access to most major brands, not to mention he's an awesome bloke to deal with, give him a call and help support windsurfing in Tassie.
