Still love the ka race just no big changes this year so it's fun to give the Naish bullets a run.

Buzzy are you getting any new toys?

Only an 82 litre quad waveboard. Wanted to get a new 90 or 97 Isonic but unfortunately cant stretch the funds, which also means no new sails this season either Although I may get one sail for freestyle.

Hopefully I'll be able to concentrate on my sailing rather than the gear this year.

Russ you have only listed 4 new items, I bet there's more to come

New Reflex 4's for me (5.6, 6.2 and 7.0), plus an iSonic 127 for those lighter wind days. Next year I'll have to replace my beloved iSonic 86, just couldn't part with it this season (or my W49)!!

I think Steve may have a bit of new kit on the way as well ....

Nice choices Dave, that 127 will be fantastic, especially for light wind slalom and adventure sailing. I hope we get some light wind fun slalom's organised to make the most of our light wind toys. I think we have Jez, Steve, Kazza, Dave and I (sure there are others) all keen at this stage, so it will be fantastic fun. I'm sure the reflex 4's will be very nice as well.

Nice work

I had to cut back on new toys this year I have ordered Reflex 4 5.6,6.2,7.0,7.8,8.6 and Isonic 2013 90, 107 and 127. I am lucky that I have one person buying all my sails and boards which makes funding the new gear possible

Having a bit of a splurge this year. 86 Kode 2012, 117 Isonic 2013. 4.7 Blade 2013, 5.1 Reflex 3, 7.5 Overdrive 2012, 400 slalom mast, wave extension, Slalom harness and that is it for the rest of my life for now. Now I have to work hard to pay for it all so no sailing for me

Well done Kazz., nice quiver.
which mast are you going to rig the blade on?.
James rigged his blades on the ezzy, even though it is constant curve it rigged ok.
Severne sails like hard top masts. Small ezzy bottom with long top can make an ezzy mast a bit stiff top.

I'm rigging it on the Ezzy 370 bottom & 430 top, looks a bit flat when I rig it, but it will have to do for the time being.

You can borrow my Severne Gorilla skinny if you want to do a comparison. Worth a try as ofetn the mast you have is just as good!. I know from experience withe the Neil PRYDE wave sails.

Good idea Damo, I'll do just that. So you've become a total Severne sailor now too? It's a bit of a pain having one brand of sail, then someone offers you sponsorship and you have have all this brand gear that doesn't fit the other gear. The big brands should be nice to us all and make them compatible.
Your getting a bit fussy there Jez, I thought it was a good season last year. I remember one year we hardly got any southerly seabreezes because it rained so much and the water was brown for 3 weeks....that's what I call a **** season!

Why did you put this thread up Russ? To punish me? I was trying to ignore new purchases as my Printing Press had decided to hide itself from me totally.
Last year Tassie sailor really embraced statistics, rankings etc. We had the GPS TC Categories, then the Contributors list, the spot record and so on. This was all absolutely awesome and really brought together a whole bunch of very competitive, talented and begginer sailors. What we are missing is the most competitive discipline of all windsurfing.
So I propose we start a new competition, Winsurfing Purchases. What we do is tally up our purchases based on recomended retail price and at the end of the season whoever spent the most wins. And wait, there should be another catergory. In this catergory you take your overall spending and divide it by the number of sessions you had for the season. This would be very interesting indeed @ Russ and Steve
Just to make it fair we could break into divisions based on annual income so we could compete against fellow sailors with the same potential buying power.

Buzzy said take your overall spending and divide it by the number of sessioins. If we base it on retail value then mine works out at an average of 10 sessions per year divide $13000 then thats only $1300 per session. That is great value
