Don't take this the wrong way, but Pied Oystercatchers are listed as critically endangered. A lot of this is due to them nesting in places where humans (and other animals like dogs and horses) interact with them, causing them to leave their nests. They only have to be off the eggs for a short time, and I think it's all over for the eggs.
I really feel for the Pieds as their habitat and behaviour overlaps massively with humans and they are easily spooked, so often fail to rear young. This is one of the reasons they are endangered.
All it takes is one person to park to close to their nest and they leave it. And this can easily happen without you knowing about it. I think almost all of us would respect the birds and their habitat, but anyone can make the mistake of not seeing the bird nests and parking too close to their nest.
Dumping rubbish is a crap thing to do though.

Sat forecast is (at the moment) strong southerly winds (15-30 knots). So can sail in the morning or midday (probably somewhere else like mortimer, Cliffy or Carlton). High tide is 9am. Low tide is 4:30pm, and it's super low too (0.3m). So oyster clean up could start maybe a bit after lunch?? I'm in.
Sunday is lighter southerly winds.

I reckon Sunday is best completely tied up on Saturday with kids sports and wouldn't be able to help. I reckon others would be in the same boat.
Good annual catch up so my vote is Sunday.

Fergus and I have put in oyster time at Dorans this arvo on our way back from South Arm. Cannot make it tomorrow.... Paul May also there.
