Forecast looks about as good as it gets for Saturday afternoon, with the ideal direction WNW. This could be the one we've been waiting for!! Anyone else keen?

I think I'll be ok although its swung a little more NW, 28kts sounds good.
I might be able to borrow a 4wd flat tray and we can stack a heap of gear on to save a walk.

Dave if you do a spot search of trial harbour then click forecast its the closest weather to Henty. Maybe you could add it to favourites. Cape Sorell and Strahan are a bit further away

the problem we have now is dad reckons optimum angle is 280 degrees with NW (300) it could be too north with how the run was formed and looked at.but still i think it could be a goer.
yep the Ute sounds good johno.if we decide to go we could get a cabin for Friday night, but dad and i are making a decision tomorrow night.

Hi Johno, the flat tray sounds good!! Forecast is still holding out reasonably well and looks like it might be a little more WNW now (thanks Laurie!!), especially early afternoon. Also checked out Trial Harbour on windguru and still looks pretty good/similar.

Very keen to see how the river mouth is looking. I'd probably head up early Saturday morning.

Pattern keeps changing, as always, but looks like it could be pretty windy from early Saturday. Might have to head up Friday night?

Looks like the forecast for Henty has softened a lot only about 20 kts now not really worth the drive when its showing 24kts at Port Sorell

It does keep changing!! Low tide at Port Sorell is 1PM, so perfect for sailing there around midday if the wind is OK. However, still doesn't look too bad for Henty. The following two graphs are for the next 48 hrs at Port Sorell and Strahan, and it looks like there'll still be plenty of wind at Henty. I reckon I might drive up early morning though if I do go to Henty, also gives a little more time to decide between the two spots!!

I got to admire you guys for the committment, how the hell do you get over 40 knots. I know I've always taken the p...... out of speed you speed freaks and that won't stop but I'm starting to realize what turns you on. At Dorans the other day Russ hit 27 knots and I.. well...er.. topped... well... 23knots, bloody embarrassing really when i know you're going twice the speed, that would be a bit of a buzz. Photos are fantastic, looks like a great place to sail.
In spit of your awe inspiring 40 knots the banter must go on, Russ still reckons you're a bunch of pussies.

Yeah Iceman and they go out with their little tiny sails because using a sail with a bit of grunt scares the crap out of them maybe one day when they toughen up a bit and do some sphincter exercises they might be able to have a go at some real speed. I think there is an 8 yo from ACT whos nearly as quick as you Anthony

Ian, You're right I need to be more committed and I'm keen to start training, could you please expalin how to go about sphincter exercises, I've already been told to keep my eyes open, what else? I'm confused, does it mean I have to pass the wind forecast for tomorrow?

Calling All Speed Sailors

Anthony,

Many thanks for bringing me into your trash of the speed guys.

I think I feel a new fun day coming on its its its.......The clash of the hair and the tortoise speed trials at Ralphs Bay!!!
Lets ask Dave and Steve to run a speed clinic first show us their speed gear with a BBQ and then give new speed converts the chance to log there fastest time on some GPS’s using the fastest machine they have in the shed.

So if you think you are fast or could be let’s see who is the fastest in our world class venue Ralphs Bay

Anthony I know there is a fast man in there, if not we can just swap your GPS with Dave’s on the day.

Ok Dave and Steve would you be interested in running a speed clinic? And when would you be available?
Cheers Russ

World class speed bumps? Great idea Russ but it would be less sphincter clenching in flatter water. Let's get it happening. First agenda for incoming president of WT should be to get a good mobile BBQ, and get events like this going.
