Well it can't get any better than this .......BOL is like a drug, you try it once and you're totally addicted and we can only thank Jonny Pott for dragging us out there four years ago.
Jason took these pics last Friday, thanks mate, Nick and I were too bloody selfish to get out of the water to use the camera .
Consistant wind 74L board, 4.7m sail and cranking.....in the water 11.30am and out 4.00pm....swell slowly building through the day.........really has to be 3/4 mast (4M swell) to work, which it did but still would have been better with another metre thrown on top... 5-6 would be perfect....maybe next time
1st couple of pics shows nick sailing out through the channel, not that different to sailing Dorans on a big day......scream out the back pick up the "last" big wave of the set and crank it down the line....if you're like me and bugger up you can get slightly touched up but you always end up back in the channel....even an ole fart like me can handle that
Great photo's. Those waves look perfect for me, don't like it too big. One day I'll get up there again with you guys. Too busy renovating at the moment, once we get it all done, look out! You looked like a pro out there Ant, it's your little special place.
Yeah thanks Jason you took some great shots, next time we'll have a camera roster running. Interesting seeing yourself on camera, I can see I'm leaning back too far and stalling the board, got to get forward more and drop the sail going into the bottom turn........it was bloody good fun though, I was pumped
Well done mate for getting back out there. Especially getting Jason to Marrawah! I miss that place! BOL takes balls and dedication to do! Its nasty and consequences can be serious. I received the biggest working of my life at that place....
I still think we need to blow up that end bit of the reef or at least knock the top of it. Like everywhere it can be fickle to score at times. Here is a picture of Ant eating it on that end section..... haha
Hey John, thanks for uploading the pics, it will make Anthony happy. Hopefully it ignites some more interest in wavesailing in Tas . Tassie has had a MAJOR OUTBREAK of gooley playing sissy's (GPS), Hopefully your medicine saves us from total destruction.

Thanks mate - hopefully its a good winter down there. I have seen some pretty good footage of surf so far. I like the GPS definition. : )
But I bet you were pooing yourself on that big wave last photo. the wave looks small to start with then in the last shot you think, omg that's as high as his mast!!!
Kazza, sounds crazy I know but the bigger the wave the easier it is to ride...got more time to set yourself up and get into the rythm. Down south where the waves build up and close out quickly it's hard to line your self up fast enough to get the turns in.........and the big plus it gives you a bigger rush than a good snort of cocaine.....not that I have ever tried it
Nice photos that must of hurt being crushed like that looked like u got a nice ride on that last pic Ant Were you using your 6.6m last week up at Marrawah looks like it in the pics unless u have a look alike
