On Tuesday a pod of 20 Orcas were seen at Bell Buoy beach and later lingering at the mouth of the Tamar River. They were huge with 6 foot dorsel fins, mums and calfs. Despite being known as killer whales they are supposedly not considered dangerous except to Polar Bears, seals, fish and penguins, no mention of sailboarders in what I have read. There is no wind at the moment so quietly hoping they will be well gone by the weekend when the wind is forecast to reappear
Will be sure to act non penguin like when falling in on the weekend....
Ben looks walks like a penguin and looks like a seal, suggest you send him out with his new Gopro.................no need to photo shop he will be cut and shut
Sadly don't have any pictures, Our beach buddies at low head saw them up close whilst fishing from a boat a bell bouy. I saw them at a distance in the river just across from the pilot station near the reef. About four small fishing boats were following the pod. I haven't read a paper or watched the news for weeks now so I have no idea if it was reported anywhere.
