everything legless says is true, and i have long been a evangelist for Boggy

but the recent decimation of gear due to carp strikes has put me off. every session i've been hitting them, some ending in violent catapults, and it's blind luck i haven't done more damage. Joe's recent destruction of his new board seals it for me.

last night i sailed Sem's for the first time in a long while and had an absolute blast. while smooth in close it was lumpy out the back. i had to change my style to stop launching all the time, but once i adapted, it was magic. an after-work sail fifteen minutes from my door is priceless. i'm back there again tonight.

Footnote - i happened to share a cab from the airport with an introduced pest expert from the CSIRO. he said the recent flooding is perfect spawning conditions for carp and most freshwater is teeming with them right now. there is a disease from Israel that has been successful in many countries to almost completely eradicating carp without any effect on the native fauna/flora. they're still investigating it in Oz to determine it is safe.

Both are great spots for different reasons...but who said ya carnt go fast in ocean!!!

Hi Shane. I would have liked to come tonight, but had to go into town today for 3 hours and had to make the time up by staying back at work. I am going to pack the gear tonight and see if I can disappear early tomorrow for a sail (big gear day by the looks).

Legless - one of the guys did see a fin last night and another saw a black fish as big as his board today - but we are alive to tell the tale.

I think it is the same as the carp they are there but you rarely come into contact with them. I have done most of my sailing on the sea and have never seen a shark it is only since being in Adelaide that I have done more sailing on the lake and that was not to do with the sharks but because boggy is a great place to sail.

come on !! how many people taken while windsurfing from a shark ! semi has better breezes , get out to the sea if you can ,you wont regret it..

Boggy was working well on Saturday. No big fish of any kind!
