I have a Fanatic Blast 100 but it gets rough when I go to a 5.0 sail. Would the Fox 95 be a good step down? I have a JP Freewave 93 but I prefer the freeride stuff.
100 to 95 is a pretty small increment. Is it worth trying a smaller fin when it blows? A much cheaper option that might do the job. Or setting up your freewave with a more freeride-y fin?
That said I love my Fox 95 and in over 20 knots, especially in rough stuff, its brilliant, but you'd have a quiver that is very close together. I'd try different fins first before looking at a new board.
Having used blast 100 and fox 105, i can say fox feels more lively compared to blast with similar comfort over chop. If you want more freeride feel i think you will get opposite with fox 95. But still maybe easier if you have waves at the lake.
