Hello,

Anyone tried a Maui mast 400 75% sdm in loft 02 sail?

Thanks for any feedback.

Just email them on the "contact us" - they're pretty quick at replying. Only thing I would say is their usual response to mast questions is:

"We don't know the mast flex properties of "....." masts so we can really only recommend our own masts".

Probably worth waiting on here to see if other masts work.

Thats why all the maunfacturers should state their mast bend curves...what are they hiding and why? someone had already asked a similar question and Monty's response was to try it.

Carl,
Yeh I'm always having trouble logging in too. And then trying to read that confirmation code is impossible.

This was an answer on the forum from Monty RE masts - "Our masts flex 64%-76%. All masts with this flex pattern will work well in our designs!".

Not hiding too much

Carl I would say it wouldn't work too well as it at the other side of the scale towards hardtop, but then I seen people do crazier things like rig a flex top mast in a hardtop sail the complete opposite end of the scale and says it works so buggers me sometimes.

agree snags those confirmation codes can be hard to read at times.

Board Mag did a test on masts and they found that the Tushingham 100% RDM made every sail rig better.

Makes you wonder...

Thanks guys.

I might just have to man up and get the 5.9 so i can use my loft mast

Unifiber site is interesting - Choco.

Confirmation code is hard part.

Cheers,

Carl

I think youll be fine with the 5.9m o2

Was using mine at sems and it handles even 25-30 knots no worries.

Re the confirmation code, If you cant read it you can keep refreshing the code until a more easier to read one comes up
