Recently grabbed a pair of the Florence spf50 hydratights in an effort to improve my sun smart. Am looking a bit like a kiter as you are supposed to wear boardies over them. especially the silver version. But hey.. so comfortable, I couldn't notice them and no chance of sunburn.
highly recommended.

Haha. I do. but. Am not going to share. they look a bit weird out of the bag around the nether regions, but once on were really comfy. plus no skin cancer.

the Florence gear seems very well put together. Designed for the purpose. while i'm doing shout outs... the needessentials gear is also excellent. got me a pair of reef booties from needessentials and they are also very comfy..

Man, they need a new name. Yeah the company is a girl's name but then you bung on "hydra tights"
Together it all sounds very ghey, marketing dept was asleep for this one..?

One of their other products is

Cordura Airtex Boardshort - Black Label - Black
That sounds hardcore. They need a new name for the smooth sexy ones

they are all living the dream life currently. Travelling the world testing their products.
You missed the black label version. That's smooth and sexy.
never thought to pay 180 bucks for boardies..and they don't come in pink

How are they different to any other SPF50 leggings?

Good question. I guess they are not leggings. Everything I've seen are basically just stockings but I'd be keen for other options as their gear is pricey. Kinda why I also use need essentials.

the Florence stuff has seems, shaping and thicker material in wear areas. Not seen anything else that has that. Also I didn't feel I was wearing them they are super comfy.

Any insight as to whether they would stop stinger/sea-lice rash ? ... as that would be the key feature

Not sure.. did some digging and nothing on the Florence site. Assuming it will work for lice as it's tight fitting. would be good to know.

Any synthetic material will stop stingers (Jellyfish) the nematocysts only fire on contact with organic surfaces

Also boardshorts cost $130 - $180 ? I need a pay raise

thx - that answers.

Given the cost of lots of boards+sails vs the hours spent on the water, I am already hundreds of dollars per sailing session (not including fuel). Spreading the cost out over many sessions make it "cheap" if it allows me to get on the water more.
