Not a review but just a note that the Serverne site now has the 2016 gear listed. They quietly slipped in a board as well. I am guessing the Nuevo was designed by hoops and is the same board Ben has been cruising around WA last summer. They certainly look interesting.

Anyone know what the prices will be? Barn?

Hi Uweh,

There is some more information up on the website regarding harnesses.

The product range is expanding, getting hard to squeeze it all on the website.

Your website says they are designed to be worn loose.

Why?

Because that helps the harness sit in a low position, where it should be!

A lot of sailors are running their harnesses a bit slack, mostly personal preference but here's a few points I can think of.

- When they're loose, they fall back down easier, so if you have a more triangular torso, you don't have any issues with the harness riding up and staying there.
- With a loose harness, you can run it lower, giving you a lower hook position without the need for a seat harness. I have a lower hook than some of the slalom guys who have a high hook seat harness.
- You can rotate your body in the harness, adjusting the position for comfort and also allowing you to twist your body forwards for either tack. This means you don't need a sliding spreader bar.

Some harnesses are better at being worn loose than others. Some harnesses have a spreader bar that requires constant tension, and if you wear it loose, the hook will flop around making it tricky to hook in.

In other words, you don't need to wear them like a corset!

^^ Me too!

'scuse my ignorance, but if you wear it loose, doesn't that make it trickier to hook in and out?

^ yes and no. If you're strapped in firmly, the hook is in a fixed position relative to your stomach. This means you technically always know where the hook is.

Wearing them a little loose means it can get lost. I think Bernd probably gets his hook loat fron time to time. NC ç

The Kanga Cock fin looked more like a boomerang - they used to often protrude way past the end of the board...

That one in the cartoon above looks more like the "outboard motor" fin - which had these weird ridges and concaves running horizontally

the cartoon above actually looks a lot like me - trying to get my kiting one as tight as possible - so it doesn't ride up. Windsurfing is way more harness friendly.

Anyone got or tried a severne air harness? I just got one and tried running it loose, but it seemed like it was stuck up around my gills the whole time, quite the contrary to dropping down by itself. Maybe a slick skin wetsuit doesn't help, or if needs more experimentation. Still, any experience out there?

football fin is the one, from the early 90,s, I had some in the day, look like you had a "Football" on stalk!!
the one with the ridges you mention was that made by multifin?. in plastic i think.. still both were ugly things on fins

I'm also interested to hear how they go. Did you end up just using it like a normal harness, or have you persisted with trying it loose, bit of a review would be great. Cheers.
