I don't know how to attach a direct link that you can click on but the website is www.schoolofsurf.com.au . Once there just click on the locations tab on the left it's exactly the same as windwanderers used to be.
Well what do you know if you type in a web address it becomes a clickable link. You learn something every day.
All there except for the best spot of all "SHEARWATER". Usually rough but i love it. My best and most memorable days so far have all been there. Also my most frustrating.
I think the O.P. was asking about the status of the club not the spot guide.
I was, but picked up some good info anyway !![]()
they sat looking out at sea waiting for the wind till they died of dehydration caused by the tears of frustration that ran down thier cheeks
We tried to contact Justin too but without any luck. He must be very busy at work, plus 2 kids and wife.....
We now house the Brisbane Windsurfing Club. Lots of activities this season. Location guide is also listed on our club's page. Click on local clubs form front page - www.surfconnect.com. All welcome!
hi guys, windwanderers is still a goer.
but, this year the focus is on burrum, reality is that the meets were seeing fewer and fewer people join in and by the end we had i think about 8 people as "official" members.
lots of reasons for that i guess,
add to that 3 months of no wind and not much spare time at my end with both work/family commitments.
the website was taken down recently, the website was sponsored by a local IT guy that windsurfs and as he was paying for it out of his own pocket as support for the club i didn't encourage him to keep doing that.
i still have the website on archive here though. might upload just the location guide at some point.
so the club is not dead, just quiet for the time being. there are some of us looking at some other options. certainly from my point of view the ambition is to keep the idea of the club continuing in some form or other.
shame to see padi get a red thumb. he has bee na big supporter of the club since it began.
p.s. padi, my old mobile died about 3 months ago and i had to get a new phone with new number. will ring you the new number. ![]()
Great to hear you are still continuing on Justin. I have made the AWA aware that you will be coming on board down the line and they will add you to the insurance documents when you re-affiliate.
This post highlights the need for sailors to get behind their clubs and really show your support through attendance and membership.
These organisations take a lot of time and energy to keep up and the people behind them put a lot of effort in which very few people see. The clubs we have in Qld are second to none and the membership fees are miniscule in comparison to those of other sports.
Please get behind the clubs or we could face losing them and the sport will be a lot worse off for that.
Cheers, Scot Farley (President Windsurfing Queensland)
Good to hear from you Gestalt!
