it's a bit far for a quick session and i reckon the wind is no good for there.

needs green in the morning from the NW for kirra. then as the day heats up the wind swings and starts to drop off.

but i could be wrong

I've heard similar before, but you'd all have been wrong last couple of weeks. I think.

I just feel like a challenge. And some ramps (not chop 2ft apart). And I can say to the family "Let's go to the beach on Sunday". And I can use that Ezzy I'm partial to, it's so soft and luxurious.

head to mermaid beach rather than kirra- more family friendly as you don't need to trek the kirra desert to reach the waters edge.

Queens is also fine in a NE, you do need to watch the bommies at very low tide, keep to the northen end of the beach. I may be up for a sail Sunday arvo Gestalty There's been quite a few sailors out in a NE over the last weeks, and we have been getting on with the few kiters just sterling

I think i'm going to try lennox head in nsw. The forecast looks a bit stronger there and last time I drove past in a northerly it looked like ramp city

I was thinking of the Train...

but as there's no doubt you get really clean wind at Redcliffe and as there's not going to be a great deal of breeze about, Queen's beach might make sense. (I also happen to live there).

Yeah Reddy would be nice if there's enough for my 5.8, but it's looking marginal. Still it wont be any better anywhere else. Yes I think I might join you.

hi haggar,

sent you an email.

well if the wind does happen i reckon queens is it.

usually when it's a low tide in brissy i head to the train (only 30mins away). it's a great spot in a NE but the last coupe of times in the northerly it's been dodgey.

it can be blowing 20 knots on the coast in a northerly and the train has 5-10.

redcliffe is a very nice spot, picks up good wind from any direction and doesn't have any tidal issues.

Although now I look at it is there any point? No swell:

Thinking about it. What would be the best place to go? Small swell is ok thought, I broke my wave board on thursday, so I'll have to use the freeride board.

ill be at mermaid as it is my local beach. just got back from a surf, the wind is building, even tho the surf report claims no swell, there is some shoulder height waves, so add a bit of wind the ramps are going to be quite big.

ill just wait for the green arrows.

Forecast is going green for Brisbane and Gold Coast. Hmm living in Redcliffe and still thinking about the Train.... Oh, the agony of choice.

typical crappy gold coast day, got teased but never delivered, had a few powered up runs but that was it.

The EvilPanda hit the beach today! woohoo and survived, well done!

Haggar did you have your GPS on? I knew I should have headed south instead of North to the lake which only had 8-10 knts of wind, posted my session anyway

Loved (all 30 mins of) it and can't wait to get back out there. Cross/Cross Onshore is SO much easier than dead onshore. And far more fun.

Found my boom arm extension was bent a bit when I derigged, you broke a mast. Is this "surf" thing gonna be expensive? Meh, it was worth it for that one head high/3ft wave, woohoo!!! Felt like "Jaws" ha ha, I can still see it when I close my eyes.
