I was waiting for the pix the whole day. Thank you so much Gestalt! Again, great, great pictures! I love the flying sand on the parking place. Man, it was blowing!

Was it really 40 knots this day?

Because there's a photo half way through the list of Frenchman Julien carrying his gear to the car. Seeing as the man only owns one sail, and that sail is a 7.2m...

....I'm VERY impressed he was out there in 40 knots !!

Must've been an awesome day's sailing!

Yer he was mad and he didnt last long either before his tubin broke.
There was some big bullet gust coming through had to watch the gear on the ground.
sand flying everywhere ah brings back fond memories of 10+ year ago when these were a common in winterstrange this time of year though.

i was stunned. the only reason he stopped was because of the sail. people were getting flattened on 4.7m sails. i watched him and he was cranking. his 7.2 looked like a formula sail compared to the other guys.

goes to show good technique is good technique.

I not sure if it was as windy at the north end of the bay, but I was wondering why my RS 6.7 was a bit of a handful at times

can't confirm or deny mate but no matter where you were it was windy.

i did have a look at the graphs when i got home and they weren't showing the speeds the guys with the meters were getting on the beach at wello. and that was before it picked up. by 3pm it was well and truely blowing dogs down the street. i had to help a couple of guys carry their gear.

wello seems to be stronger than anywhere else in a westerly which is why everyone loves it.
