I had a great wave-sailing session saturday at Florence bay in magnetic island. I don't know how the reliable the wind is there, but definitely it was working on Saturday..
Only myself and a surfer, and tones of waves. Clear water, 5.7m and 100l fsw, beautiful day.
Can't wait for another windy day here..

Arrrrr memories I use to surf there alot years ago when I was desperate for a wave, has a mechanical right hander you can ride for 100m on a good day. The take off is right beside the rocks and the wind is dead onshore and gusty can not imagine windsurfing there with much success though.

You guys in Townsville should head out to Saunders beach it can be really good for waves and its not far from town, it's where I spent 21 years of my life.

Yes it is often onshore and gusty, but saturday the wind was coming from the sw (kind of onshore/side shore). It was really good, at least for townsville standards...
I have heard that saunders is famous for its crocs. Any advices on that?

lets keep your fingers crossed for wind....

Iv only ever seen 1 croc in the far reaches of the creek and I spent most days in the water swimmming fishing surfing etc before and after school and on weekends.

SMG, Florence bay is the most reliable wave near Townsville by far! it is well worth it. Forecast to look out for is 30knot SE 3m sea outside the reef and its on! even 25knot forecast can be good.
