i'd like to start this thread for all of those that think a jinx is possible. think of it as a tribute. [}:)]

longterm -

i reckon this season is going to be a corker. windy as last season with some very big cyclones for us storm chasers. throw in a few ecl's also and we will have a blast.

bom says we are still in a la nina phase. soi is positive, so big chance of excellent trade winds this summer. (like last year) also looks like a good cyclone season, water temp in north qld are 26+deg

short term -

next weekend (saturday) looks the goods with strong northerly winds. i am going for a cracker event.

ok, i put my head out there now.

Time for smaller gear then. I'm starting to get blown away on a 5.9 more often than not, and that's the smallest I have.

Importantly Gestalt what are next week's lotto numbers?

well mate, me and you both!

i'm getting an 80lt wave board for xmas and i think i need a 4.7 or smaller. today at wello i didn't go out.

i'm not buying the graphs from today. wello was smokin. windiest i have seen it in years. i' sure the guys will be talking about it tonight. i still have sand in my ears and eyes.

talk on the beach was 35-40 knot gusts. for a while there it was that strength for some time. as i left it was still pumping.

wello is the spot in a westerly.

yes it was windy.

I went out on a 4.5 at 9:30am and was overpowered. I left at about 1pm and it was windier than when I went out!

I measured a gust at 32knots on the beach but it was stronger further out in the water.

The most amazing thing was the guys rigging up 6m sails

^ hehe 5.9 for me, although I really needed a 5.0. 'Twas all I had.

I have never been so fast. I had one giant trip over the bars at full speed. One massive gust I was unhooked and the board was literally ripped from my hands and feet and went tumbling away. Gybes are coming along. All-in-all good fun.

I'd say 20-35kt

You going an 80L Justin? I'm just trying to figure out a size now.
I'm thinking 85 & 4.5 - 6.0. <sigh> then there's sails, masts...

Justin you should have gone out, you would have had a great time on the 5m it did look worse than it was imo. There was twice when I was going upwind and got lifted out of the water thinking wow that was a gust.

I think the council should dump sand more often at wello, whenever they do it always cranks and the sand disappears.

Dear K.Rudd/Santa...

yeah 83 to be exact. 95lt has a wide tail and starts to lift over 30 knots. i used a 75lt no porbs in 35-40 bump and jump but that's just too small for getting more use. i figure 83 is the go. 100kg.

depends what you are looking for. for me it's a board to use maybe 6-7 times a year. when it pumps. so 2nd and cheap is where i have gone. if your after the same maybe 75lt for you. haircut was on an 82lt today. so if you want somethng with more range 80-85lt will do you

*edit* then i'll have 83, 95, 125 wave boards. for 95-100kg i think thats a good range. sail wise i'll use 4.7(still to get), 5.3, 5.8,6.4 then there is the slalom kit to sort out. might need to have some more kids.
