Twas good - one of those beaut days, sunny skies, good wind, etc etc.
Did you hear the story of Dave hitting something big then riding it when he fell off!!!
(at VP)
He hit something really big that stopped him instantly, fell off onto something that grazed his legs and knees before it swum off, has skin off as well. Frightened the sh_t out of him. Says he didn't see it as the water was so dirty, just felt it. Hard to imagine but he swears by it! I think Dugongs have soft skin, I know those other things don't!!!
Good story hey!!
Only good to fall on something if it is an esky full of beer, anything else you can keep to yourself. Was great at Manly, fu bore on the 5.4 and 86L board.
I have been on KFC at 1PM and only slow few runs and big cut on foot on f**k rocks there.![]()
I should stick to my favorite Shearwater... how was there today ?
Manly was great, started to try some jumping - also did some massive catapults and now have a fat lip, big lump on arm and a bit of a limp, but all worth it ![]()
Hi Jono, awesome re the jumps - still by far my most favorite part of windsurfing. Just remember to pull your feet up to your but after you spring off the face of the wave, it positions your board for the landing and will reduce the catapults.
Thanks for the advice Scot, i'll try that next time, the jumps felt awesome but I'm not sure I was getting very much air!
That's the thing with jumps, you never really know how high you are until someone tells you. Sometimes you bust your balls and only just clear the fin and other times when you think you just had an average boost, someone will tell you that you were sky high. The best ones are the floaters you get when it is really pumping.
Thanks Scott , Dave and the guys in the boat for the rescue after i broke my mast a fair way out , im not sure my floating back plan was going to work .
