sounds good if the wind comes in. not a big fan of slogging in the surf.

Am very keen! Hopefully can get the van this time rather than having to tie it all on the roof of the starleto :)

Might have to give the freestyle a go in the DTL :) - that will be a laugh for you all.

I've got one wave sail that is not broken or in transit. A 6.5 Ezzy, quite tuneable, but maybe tooo big?

Yay/Nay?
I'm keen for a first try of this frontside, down-the-line stuff

yeah looks quite southerly but once your past the evil rock at the alley its clean wind, and when you're on a wave headin down the line, if the winds a bit more fluttery it isnt really a problem... unless you get stuck on the inside and get pounded by an 8ft set (twice) and wreck a sail and snap two masts, one of which wasn't yours, in one weekend... hmm, who did that happen to?

alas, there is no need for worry, it looks like it'll only be 2-3ft

Has anyone thought about Cudgen/Kingscliff as a backup if it is too southerly??
Its only another 15min drive if Currumbin is not working.
I think this place would even work in a southwesterly.
I'll be at Currumbin as usual but trying Cudgen if Currumbin is no good.

tried it a few times on a northerly and is quite fun with a few out (walked up to the rock and launched). everytime i went there it was marginal winds. you can kind of ride the wave from the rock for a bit. not sure its very pleasant on a southerly as often looked pretty messy

but yeah, sure has got better wind than currumbin

Fingal head is the spot i reckon if it's got a hint of east in the south.

The few times i went there the spot between the head and the island had big swell even on my 3ft limit small wave days admit the photos don't look too inspiring, but it was fun and big rollers out closer to island.

from about 2003/04

and if you walk to the west a bit u can sail here too if yer really desperate

I just hate having to drive all the way down there and often the wind is tripe while knowing people further north are enjoying themselves with wind, but you definately stand a much better chance of decent wind @ cudgen & fingal than at currumbin

i just wanted to assure you they are all spam.

Hung around Currumbin till about 2, never happened.

Went for a SUP for a while and even that was average. 2 ft swell and a strong very gust offshore wind coming straight up the creek. Put that with the outgoing tide and I was continually paddling in to just stay in the line up.

Looking forward to this summer, I heard a rumour that the Jem Hall lookalike is going to be gracing us with his presence?

Need some looping tips
