i finaly get the week off with plenty of wind expected and i get a low tide at the time of day i want to go. in need of advice.
can i sail at wellington point on the low tide?
what time would be best?
Play it by ear
Watch the wind observations on here for Coolongatta and when direction goes true SE 15 knots+ it's always on.
For beginners there is now a nice flatwater section on the inside when the tide is up a bit. Just need the true SE direction for the wind to fill in there.
Its stil looking good for the next few days, there will be some nice litlle waves on the point and the alley line up is epic long right hand waves should be fun if it blows for us.
Dont want to be a kill joy but this time of year the wind struggles to go "true south east" not saying it will not happen but rare...........
Nice to see three of you floating around at the Alley on the Coastalwatch web cam
Looks seriously light or is that a good breeze for the Goldie ![]()
was almost true SE for a lot of the time at KFC today, and got pretty good from around 2.30
did it swing east enough to sail down there?
Yeah the Alley had a little wind but not strong, maybe 15knts plus gusts out wider. Ít turned se on and off. I sup sailed and had a ball.
Couple of guys on smaller gear were still having fun.
tomrw maybe stronger. Unusual for winter.
