sailing at weipa

arrived in weipa a month ago. moved up from wonga beach and mainly sail at fourmile port douglas.Want to know if anyone crazy enougth has given it ago and where.Seen a few inviting spots with a stiff afternoon wind. Im here for ten months and would like to bring my gear up.It be nice change from drinking,fishing,and chasing pigs.

i love my yearly fishing trip to weipa, but i will admit that after eyeballing a few great speed runs and crystal clear freeride spots, i always feel a bit uneasy about the sharkyness and the leather handbags!

don't... I lived there for 2 years in the 70's but I doubt if things have changed much

I reckon there would be more crocs now than in the 70's.

Thats only a Goanna track. If you want to sail try Lake Pat or Lake Mcloud. I would not suggest windsurfing in the rivers.

dartman, i saw that 10 foot + goanna amble down the beach in front of me! made me feel humble and in awe.
