checked out suttons today as a spot in this e-ene, i think its better than queens for this direction (couldn't sail today - daddys day care). queens was too onshore the kites were just sailing up and down the beach.

the photo looking out to scotts point at margate is sailing direction
nice green grass is rigging area.
only problem could be swimmers as thats where life savers put flags, but they said hardly anyone came to beach.
if i can offload boys tomorrow i'm heading there, not sure if am or pm yet.

yeah, hi gesty, they could be a problem, thats why i went for a look at lowish tide,
all the waves breaking in foreground are over sand, took boys for a swim there today and have paddled mal there late in the day in se when not enugh time to sail a handfull of times.
can't really see them that well on goole earth, but in the photo with the rubber ducky i think in the background nearly on the horizon is a white streak, pretty sure thats one and then closer in to the beach about half way along towards playground is another, sail straight through them hopefully or beat upwind initially,
shouldn't be a problem if it swings further to north or if i get down at high tide.
i do recall you saying once or twice that suttons is a good place, i might see you there

Still very East at Reddy and just had a 45 knt gust and the wind is still building ! Gusting to 60 knt at Moreton Isl !

Awesome conditions at queens and Suttons. Suttons probably the safer option. Few people surfing at queens and a couple of jet skis. Couple of swimmers at suttons. Blowing a gale something bad though

i went, i tried, i failed
had a couple of out of control runs, but wouldn't call it a success.
got down and said hello to lifesavers, who said if they could see me they would come and get me if i stuck my hand up(thanks to them) problem is visibility was only couple hundred meters.
they also said the police had been around a couple of times chasing people off the beach as it was closed.

no fun trying to do it alone

Agreed, certainly safety in numbers with this sport. It is hard to see a windsurfer in the water once you are any distance out and your sail is in the drink.
