I think I am in this. Right at the end @ 4.22 for about 2 seconds. The purple sail in the first clip. Definitely me in the second clip @ 3.38. Recognize the board, still got the yellow mast protector . I do recognize the sailor with the NQ Sailbords logo on sail. He ran the sailboard shop. Is there more?

Thanks for posting. Brings back memories. I think that day we launched next to the swimming pool. Normally would sail up near the rock pool although my favorite spot was up at Pallaranda.

That's so cool! Thanks for sharing Takes me back to good fun and memories with friends.
Recognised hubby Rob by his jumping style (blue Simmer sail). I'm sure other regulars were there eg. Stoney, Norm Payne, Garry Lean, Glen Barrett, Rooster, Barb and Bruce Hodges, Derrick and many others. I think I'm there doing some jumps not sure didn't recognise myself so many boards/sails and years ago

bruce hodgens with an N. reckon it was windier back then. I remember they planted all those bushes on the strand and spoiled the rigging area for a while.

thanks for the correction. it was windier back then i need a 6,5 to sail in the same conditions . cyclones sorted out the trees and plants . too hard to sail there now because of stinger nets and parking.port and buildings disturb the wind

nice work brings back memories of some fun sailing. no clue if I am in it or not , think I recognise some but can't find the names in all the old grey matter. It could have been a promotional series for Nth Qld sailboards After a bit of sleuthing, I think the launch spot was on top of the breakwater (rocks with grass on top and steep stairway down to beach which disappeared at high tide) just north of the big park (other side of the road) which was next to the Travelodge hotel. Everyone moved to there (away from stinger net ropes) when they put it in. It was shot from 1986 or onwards because the casino is in the background over near the port.
Here's a few photos about a decade latter, from the same spot, not many out that day. you can just make out the channel marker on the horizon ( which shows up in the videos)
