i have a starboard its only spent about 30 hours in the water and the anti slip pad has come away from the board.
has anyone else had this problem?
How do i remove the old glue and what do i use to stick it back?
I used to rave about how good this board was now i would not recomed them.
not sure on removing the old glue, i think thinners would be too harsh and may react with the board.
but re sticking it down, something like selleys gel grip or some other contact adhesive will work. follow the instructions on the can, coast both surfaces, let the glue go "tacky" almost dry, then push the two surfaces together.
dont stress too much, its only adhesive, i had the same with my old Tiga 275, its deck pads lifted. i used contact adhesive to stick down new stuff, that was 14 years ago now, and its still going strong now.

when i put a new fin box in a board i just sanded the glue off then glued the pad with epoxy but thats really just because its what i had there , Id say qldnacras method is much better . How old is the board this happened to
Just make sure the there is no damage to the actual skin of the board- quick grip and these types of contact adhesives dissolve the foam core material very, very well- yes I have found out the hard way- DO NOT USE any contact adhesive to try to fix a delamination- total disaster- epoxy is such a safe adhesive to use for any repair work.
Contacted starboard about removing glue.
i used Acetone and paper towel to remove glue, so far so good.
just need to find the right glue now.
Starboard suggested Bostic or Dunlop yellow.
