as a novice would WP be good tplace sail at low tide

Can be tricky because you can't see more than 2mm in that water, and the bottom is somewhere close. Hitting the bottom at speed can really hurt, probably the most dangerous thing you can do actually. But if you follow the path of everybody else you'll be fine.

I suppose it's a good thing it is shallow at WP because you can stand up when you fall off.
