There are a few people around because of the school holidays but plenty of room for windsurfing on the lake!
not busy but there is a lack of sufficient wind :( Lake is beautiful at the moment. Clear water and shallow enough to stand pretty much anywhere
I'm heading up this morning hope to get at least one good days sailing, then maybe spend the next day getting my eldest sailing.
currently says 14-17 at tewantin, and it usually never says anything higher that 10, so there must be a cyclone at the lake ![]()
The only cyclone on the lake was me throwing a tantrum, I had a great couple of runs then the wind died leaving me in the middle of the lake. It took forever to get back.
Hopefully the wind will pick up later.
It was a weird nor-wester this morning. Anyone get out? Had to head home but I was wondering weather it would swing in the arvo to a northerly
Funny wind at the lake
Very on/off gusty during the morning. I had some good runs before it dropped off as it swung more west. Afternoon very light and the little gusts had no power in them
Came up a little bit around 4.30 & swung north but not a lot. The Tewantin readings were much higher the last few days than the lake. Not usually the case!
Should be good SE tomorrow and Tues (for the holidayers & non workers ![]()
Back up at Elanda point for the school holidays. First sailing ive done since before winter.
Not much sailing last week was more kayak weather.
I had great beginners day today :). I think I was the only person on the lake this arvo! Lite winds an rain didn't stop this 'keen beginner'.
I have been given a couple of very old school boards, a Comet F2 and a Bombora 295. I spent the arvo trashing myself practicing beach starts and wobbling all over the place on the narrow boards. It's my first go at 150 litre boards. The almost sink under my 90kgs.
I spent remainder of arfternoon on the comfort if my 220l training board until the driving rain and wind chill got the best of me.
After hot shower and coffee spent time with my 8 year old son practicing sail handling in the fading breezes.
Anybody close got a kids rig?

So very quiet here. Winds look good for me over the next few days

Onsite weather report from Elanda point

Some sailing in very gentle beginners weather on Thursday morning. Thanks to the loan of a kids rig from Tony I had my daughter up going through the beginner motions.
In the afternoon I continued my eaty adventures in using a harness - not planning yet!!! However I had a great afternoon. Met jeff in the middle of the lake. Felt I could have sailed all the way across the lake - first time I've had this confidence. Loving the experience
Cheers Jeff
