Well, the forecast is good, and it bodes well for spring if we start getting some good NW changes now. There is supposed to be snow falls today too, from the same cold front. It looks like a big strong front, so the forecast should come through for Kirra.
Be sure to tell us what happens if you get down there.
Would there be enough water on the westside of Wello sandbank in the morning? Thought of doing a quick run.
currumbin down to kirra looked fantastic today. ultra clean surf even on the nne breeze, just unfortunately stuck at 12 knots ![]()
tomorrow ![]()
i got meeting till about 10 then i'll head straight down
Take care boys, east swell has pulsed and is coming through at 3-5ft, shore breaks have been pretty big all along the coast and I expect NKirra would be no different.
Da vecta, I did the skywalk on Sunday, very impressive.
I'm at Kirra now. You are right about the swell as it's a bit bleak and generally dumpy. There are a couple of kites playing in the flat water in front of the main break, but the wind is a little too west to get any decent runs, even right down at greenmount end.
good news is there's a gutter further to the north of the north kirra slsc which is fairly well defined at low tide. instead of meeting at north kirra, it might be worth rigging somewhere between flat rock and north kirra over the next few months?
chairman - if you are reading this, i'll go take a peek at currumbin and if no good i might head to the spit for a sail on the broadwater instead
yep, or the same sort of thing. the really good one 18 months back ran from greenmount to bilinga, but it didn't last long.
had a great sail at the spit for about an hour. surprising how good the last few gc westerlies have been
if we were both there i would have rigged up and gone out, just not so motivated alone when its dumpy and grey like that
