Welcome to the 2010/2011 windsurfing year. With the passing of the year our faithfull Admiral has retired his looking glass and made way for El Presidente. Great work by and thanks go out to all the volunteers and committee of last year. It wasn't one of our best but our competitor numbers were still constant and we saw even more slalom cherries popped.

There are some exciting things a foot for this upcoming season with some new blood in the committee.

Firstly, we are going to have crack at running Qld's first ever speed sailing series, to give those jibe challenged of us a chance at winning something The guys have some great ideas which will introduce a whole new element to GPS Speed sailing.

Secondly, plans are afoot to get some professional tuition for our members - without counting my chickens, we are in negotiations with Matt Pritchard who is keen to come over if we can get the numbers. We will aim for november as this fits Matt's Schedule the best and he can commit to 2 weeks out here. The plans are to run clinics covering topics from slalom, freestyle and hopefully wave. Matt is a 3 times World champ in Supercross and Freestyle, and has an amazing philosophy and energy for this sport. I have been fortunate enough to attend his wave clinic in Baja, and he will make you a better sailor. We expect costs to be between $50 and $100 for a 2-3 day clinic. Actual length, clinic content and extras to be confirmed.

So for our members and those who aren't, please forward your expression of interest to Bayside Sailboards info@baysidesailboards.com.au

Info required is name, email, discipline and contact phone.

many thanks

That's brilliant that you are organising that.
I contacted Matt for lessons when I was in Maui, but he was out of town at a competition.
I am a big fan of professional tuition. The bigegst handicap to sailing in Oz is lack of the same.
