I agree it's the best spot for a westerly and I know you all seem to have a great time there. Maybe it's just me but the following usually pulls me up:
-Has to be the right tide
-It's an hour in traffic from where I live
-Parking is horrendous
-It's crowded
-Sooner or later you going to get into the mud
-Each time I've been there I've dinged a fin
-The water is incredibly dirty
-Kiters and their strings are all over the place
In winter I tend to agree to family things because I'm going to be pretty hard to pin down the other nine months of the year.
i hear you...

in summer those things are definitely an issue.
-Has to be the right tideyeah i don't sail there on low tides. i go to the goldy or redy
-It's an hour in traffic from where I live35-40 minutes for me too.
-Parking is horrendousin winter the entire place is empty. except for last thursday where i struggled to ge a park due to all the windsurfers.
-It's crowdedonly in summer.
-Sooner or later you going to get into the mudthere a lot more sand there now. the council did reno works and the sand is slowly being washed over all of the mud. same happened to vicki point. but that's why i only sail the western side.
-Each time I've been there I've dinged a finyep.
-The water is incredibly dirtyyep
-Kiters and their strings are all over the placeonly in summer really. the kiters don't seem to sail there in winds over 25 knots. anything over that and there's not a kiter in sight.

during a NW or W wind it pumps there. seems to funnel into the bay.
