womndering where everyone is going on the goldy tomorrow. was at the train today and noticed only 2 guys on the water??????
what the!
yep, parking was pretty hard work at the train today, the sun was out and so was everyone else. Loads of jetski's and powerboats too.
i figured holiday traffic down there would be completely retarded. so crossed it off the list. did see on the highway signs just out of brisbane that said the highway was basically stuffed and to 'seek alternative route' ????
i was there with kids, will go again tomorrow.
@ swoosh, yeah traffic on freeway was heavy some parts 50km/hr. took me over an hour to get to surffx which only takes about 40 minutes normally.
@ switch, prob park at the bait and tackle shop. plenty of shade and good rigging area.
@ brad, i didn't recognise you mate, or i would of grabbed some photos. i was stunned with how brown the water was
. wind seemed faily consistant.
how was the goldy i went to VP it was awesome high tide when i got there at 8:30 then left at 2:00 was so great water startinng in the straps about 15-18 knts
i ended up at VP switch around 3pm. caught the high tide. was a slow and sore session. ![]()
wind prob 15-18 also.
Try Rockhampton - no crowding, always get a car park, plenty of water, no jet ski's and 15-20 knots !![]()

Never heard of that place Justin but its probably been renamed 5 or 6 times since your last visit or most likely its been washed away!!!!!
Wish i was on the Goldy living 5 min from the train again!!! - I can handle sailing Power Boats, Crowded parking, Jetski's and kites. Hopefully in a few months a big move!!!! (close to Burrum possibly
)
yeah, it's a lomg time ago. was a club down near the river. i'd say long gone and after wednesday definitely gone.
hope you survive the floods mate.
All good here, high and dry where i am at Gracemere!
Plenty of water around, wish it was like this all the time then i wouldnt drive to yeppoon to go windsurfing!!!
